A new report from IHS Markit shows that Samsung recorded the highest screen shipments by 40.2% in the first quarter of 2019.

The Korean giant has achieved screen sales of $ 3.4 billion, or 40.2 percent of total screen shipments during the quarter, but with the large percentage held by Samsung, it also recorded an annual loss of 6.6 percent.

JDI ranked second with a market share of 12.3%, while the market share of BOE increased to 11.9%. IHS's forecast also indicated that BOE's share will surpass JDI's share in the second quarter of 2019, according to the rapid development of BOE's shipments.

Market analysts say the main reason for Samsung's market share in shipments of monitors is due to the high rate of charging of OLED screens for smartphones this year, as many phone manufacturers have switched to selecting this category of screens that support fingerprint integration on the screen.

Samsung's strongest rival now is the Chinese company BOE, which recently began doubling its production to supply screens for Mate 20 Pro phones.
